The heir of the ring

Frodo gets the ring

Gandalf:
reaches down to pick up the ring, sees the eye of Sauron, and leaves it where it is, sits in front of the fire, thinking about Bilbo's words, and the ring's history
Bilbo:
It's mine, my own, my precious.
Gandalf:
Riddles in the dark... Precious...
Frodo:
Bilbo! Bilbo! (enters, sees the ring and picks it up) He's gone, hasn't he? He talked for so longabout leaving, I didn't think he'd really do it. Gandalf?
Gandalf:
(looks over, sees Frodo has the ring) Bilbo's Ring. He's gone to stay with the elves. He's left you Bag End, along with all his possessions. The ring is yours now.
Gandalf holds out an envelope, Frodo slips the ring inside. Gandalf seals it with wax.
Gandalf:
Put it somewhere out of sight.
Frodo:
Where are you going?
Gandalf:
There are some things that I must see to.
Frodo:
What things?
Gandalf:
Questions, questions that need answering.
Frodo:
But you've only just arrived! I don't understand.
Gandalf:
Neither do I. Keep it secret. Keep it safe.
